The Microsoft MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician 7 Credential will require one of two HDI certifications: HDI Support Center Analyst (HDI-SCA) or HDI Desktop Support Technician (HDI-DST).
This certification will validate that Microsoft Certified IT Professionals who specialize in Desktop Support for Windows 7 understand both the technical aspects of the operating system as well as the vital customer service and business process skills required by support professionals.

HDI Support Center Analyst (HDI-SCA)
Developed for professionals who provide remote support via phone, email, chat, or other contact channels, this certification focuses on strategies for effective customer care and problem resolution, the fundamentals for support processes and tools, and an introduction to ITIL processes.
HDI Desktop Support Technician (HDI-DST)
Designed specifically for those who provide desk-side support, this certification includes many of the same topics as HDI-SCA but has added components critical to in-person support such as troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

The HDI Support Center Analyst (HDI-SCA) and HDI Desktop Support Technician (HDI-DST) courses are delivered via a two-day instructor-led, classroom format and through a 10-12 hour self-paced, online course through the HDI Learning Center.

All course prices include the certification exam which the student must take within 12 weeks of the course through the HDI Learning Center.

Notify Microsoft of Your HDI Certification
In the fall of 2009, those who have earned an HDI Certified credential may authorize HDI to submit their HDI credentials to Microsoft. Candidates must have a valid Microsoft Certified Professional ID (MCP ID) to complete this process. Once the request is processed, your HDI credential will be visible on your Microsoft transcript on the Microsoft Certifications member site.
