Hosting Solutions Competency Requirements

Becoming a Hosting Solutions competency member confirms to your customers and partners that you have the skills to build solid hosting solutions based on Microsoft hosting technologies. As a Hosting Solutions competency member, you can take advantage of numerous benefits.

Microsoft Partner Network Alert: Competency Update
Beginning in May 2010, the Hosting Solutions competency will be updated. Current Hosting Solutions competency partners will be automatically migrated into the updated and renamed Hosting competency. You should continue to work on current competency requirements and periodically check this page for new requirements to ensure they’re met prior to re-enrollment.

Membership Level
To attain the Hosting Solutions competency, you must be enrolled in the Microsoft Partner Network at the Certified or Gold Certified membership level. As a Certified or Gold Certified Partner, you can access a rich set of benefits, resources and support. Exam Requirements

Effective August 2009
You must employ or contract with at least two individuals who have each passed one of the following Microsoft exams:
Exam 70-351: TS: Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2006, Configuring
Exam 70-404: TS: System Center Service Manager 2010, Configuring (available in 2010)
Exam 70-451: PRO: Designing Database Solutions and Data Access by Using Microsoft SQL Server 2008
Exam 70-452: PRO: Designing a Business Intelligence Infrastructure by Using Microsoft SQL Server 2008
Exam 70-573: TS: Office SharePoint Server, Application Development (available in 2010)
Exam 70-576: PRO: Designing and Developing Microsoft SharePoint Server “14” Applications (available in 2010)
Exam 70-631: TS: Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, Configuring
Exam 70-642: TS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring

If your organization has qualified for the Hosting Solutions competency by using retired certifications, your organization will retain the competency until May 2010. To maintain the value of your Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) credentials, you should ensure that your organization has associated individuals who meet the most recent exam requirements. Licensing and Sales Requirements
You must sign the Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) and meet a minimum SPLA requirement of 75 processor licenses or 3,000 subscriber access licenses within the previous 12 months.
Use the Microsoft Sales Performance Points Table to calculate the Microsoft Sales Performance points you can earn for licensing various software products within the Microsoft Partner Network. Note that server access licenses (SALs) fall under the server client access licenses (CALs) product category and processor licenses apply to the Windows Server product category.
Customer Reference Requirements
You must submit at least three customer references that feature the design and implementation of a hosting solution that has been completed within the last 12 months. Each reference will be verified with your customer and will remain valid for two years after the date it is approved.
